About The Role The Human Resources Lead at Rural King plays a crucial role in supporting various HR functions at the store level. This position is responsible for fostering a positive and productive work environment by ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. The HR Lead oversees employment-related activities such as staffing, onboarding, record keeping, benefits administration, and training coordination. The role requires effective communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills to serve as a trusted partner for both management and associates. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities, organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding our company values. This position may require working evenings and weekends to support store operations and HR initiatives.
Qualifications Candidates should possess at least two years of human resources experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively convey information and instructions. The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail is critical for success. Candidates must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, interpersonal abilities, and adaptability to changing priorities. A growth mindset, characterized by a dedication to continuous learning and development, is highly valued. Physical requirements include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds intermittently, and navigate all store facilities. Responsibilities
- Promote positive associate relations through effective communication and fostering a supportive work culture.
- Represent the company’s values and mission with professionalism, empathy, and enthusiasm.
- Review employment applications to assess candidate qualifications and suitability for open positions.
- Conduct initial phone screenings to evaluate candidate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with store management, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding processes, providing a seamless transition for new associates.
- Participate in community events to enhance hiring efforts and promote employment opportunities.
- Coordinate and conduct new associate orientations, ensuring comprehensive onboarding.
- Maintain accurate and current associate records in the Human Capital Management system, including personal data, attendance, and performance documentation.
- Assist with benefits administration and enrollment processes.
- Coordinate and deliver training sessions on workplace policies, job-specific skills, and professional development.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and development plans.
- Serve as a point of contact for associates, addressing inquiries and providing guidance.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to resolve conflicts and disciplinary issues, ensuring adherence to policies and legal standards.
- Partner with the Store Support Center HR team and store management on policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication by updating associates on programs, benefits, schedules, safety, and wellness information.
- Oversee safety programs at the store, including accident/incident recordkeeping, safety audits, and communication of safety topics.
- Uphold a high level of confidentiality regarding company, associate, community, and legal matters.
- Maintain professional communication with Store Support Center partners via written and verbal channels.
- Utilize office equipment such as telephones, copiers, fax machines, and computers effectively.
- Assist with monthly cash reporting and maintain office supplies and training spaces.
- Participate in cross-training to support various departments and responsibilities.
- Provide proactive, friendly, and professional support to internal and external stakeholders.

- Perform additional duties as assigned to support store and HR operations.
