About The Role
The Human Resources Business Partner position is a contingent role dependent upon contract award. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted, strategic partner within the National Aerospace Sector Human Resources Team. This role requires a proactive, responsive, and collaborative professional who can influence and drive HR initiatives aligned with Peraton’s strategic imperatives and operational priorities. The HR Business Partner will be instrumental in fostering a positive organizational culture, enhancing employee engagement, and supporting talent retention efforts.
They will engage with leadership and employees to develop innovative solutions, improve HR processes, and facilitate organizational development. The role demands strategic thinking, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to navigate complex and rapidly changing environments. The ideal candidate will act as an ambassador for organizational values, ensuring HR strategies support business success and employee well-being. The position involves working closely with leadership to coach managers, address employee relations issues, and implement HR programs that promote a high-performance work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR Business Partner experience with a bachelor's degree in HR, Psychology, Business, or a related field; or 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree in a related field.
- Alternatively, 12+ years of work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Location within the DMV area preferred, with the ability to partner regularly in person with HR and Sector leadership teams.
- Preferred certifications include Human Resources Professional Certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SP.
- Experience with Human Capital Management software such as Workday or iCIMS is highly desirable.
- Strong strategic thinking, relationship-building, and consulting skills.
- Proven ability to design and implement HR initiatives from conception through execution.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate business strategies into workforce implications.
- Experience working in dynamic, rapidly changing environments.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic HR partner to the Sector leadership, providing expert guidance on employee relations, organizational development, and workforce planning.
- Design, develop, and implement HR initiatives, programs, and processes aligned with organizational goals.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships across the business and HR Centers of Excellence to influence and drive positive change.
- Assess organizational needs, diagnose issues, and develop creative solutions to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Provide coaching and development support to managers and leaders to improve leadership effectiveness and team motivation.
- Manage sensitive employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion, ensuring compliance with policies and legal requirements.
- Translate business strategies into actionable HR plans, analyzing workforce data to inform decision-making.
- Facilitate feedback, organizational development, and coaching sessions to foster a positive workplace culture.
- Partner with HR teams to implement talent management, succession planning, and performance management initiatives.
- Support diversity and inclusion efforts to promote an equitable and inclusive work environment.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging HR trends to continuously improve HR services and strategies.
