Background for the Role
We’re looking to find a Creative Strategist with rich gaming experience to strengthen our creative muscle and ensure our partner work; content, decks, concepts, and storytelling, continue to excel. We can offer the successful applicant the chance to work directly with some of the most successful games and developers in the world.
Gaming, gaming, gaming - this is the vital DNA for any applicant. Your middle name may as well be Mario, Geralt, or Jonesy for that matter.
This role will support our Head of Creative in bringing creative concepts to life (from initial brainstorms to polished client decks) while working hand-in-hand with the Senior Strategist to ensure our ideas are insight led and strategically sound.
This is a hands-on creative strategy role for someone confident in taking a brief, crafting ideas that excite, and collaborating across teams to turn thinking into something pitch-perfect.
Does this sound like you?
- 4–5 years of experience in creative strategy, social-first marketing, or influencer/creator campaigns with a background in gaming or entertainment
- A conceptual thinker with a strong sense of narrative and cultural awareness.
- Excellent communicator - you can confidently turn abstract or complicated ideas into clear, concise, creative proposals.
- Proficiency in Canva or Google Slides, you are super confident in deck creation and design logic.
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple time zones.
Gaming:
- You game in your downtime, you’re at the cutting edge of competitive gaming.
- You’re a native speaker of gaming culture - from the classics through to the new era of indie gaming and global competitive landscape.
- You spend your time reading blogs, articles and leaks for
what’s next,
and you spend a chunk of time every day trying new games or immersing yourself in gaming in some form.
- Heck, you probably book a day off work to play the newest Pokémon game.
- Bonus points: you watch anime and other gaming-adjacent pop-culture moments.
The Goal for the Role
To contribute strong, inside-backed creative ideas and proposals that elevate Cherry Pick's storytelling, maintain our excellent reputation with partners, and help win new business. Bridge creative strategy and execution, ensuring our output is compelling, smart and really performs.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Ideation & Strategy
- Support the Senior Creative Strategist and Head of Creative in shaping campaign concepts and creative strategy
- Translate client briefs into compelling, insight-led ideas that align with audience behaviour, partner objectives, and gaming culture.
- Lead brainstorms with fresh, culturally relevant thinking.
- Craft narratives, campaign hooks, and storytelling frameworks for persuasive proposals.
- Recommend creator partners that align with campaign goals and audience fit.
Deck Creation & Storytelling
- Own the structure, tone, and creative flow of decks, ensuring each proposal tells a clear, compelling story
- Collaborate with Creative Coordinators to bring ideas to life visually while upholding brand standards
- Produce first-draft decks following brainstorms and polish them for clarity, consistency, and narrative impact
Collaboration & Project Management
- Join client briefings and pitches, articulating complex creatives alongside leadership.
- Collaborate across UK and US teams to deliver projects on time, aligning creative ideas with campaign goals.
- Partner with the Senior Creative Strategist on timelines, workflow, and creative priorities.
Insight and Learnings
- Stay current on social and gaming trends, creator culture, emerging formats, and platform shifts.
- Review post-campaign learnings with Creative and Performance teams for future strategy.
- Help evolve internal trend-tracking and knowledge-sharing processes.
