The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the energy sector and a strong ability to create, manage, and refine operational systems that support the evolving needs of the business. This role requires a proven leader who can work cross-functionally across engineering, regulatory, finance, and field operations teams. A background in upstream, midstream, downstream, or renewable energy operations is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain operational standards focused on efficiency, safety, reliability, and environmental compliance
- Oversee day-to-day business operations across multiple energy functions (e.g., drilling, production, transmission, or renewables)
- Partner with compliance and regulatory teams to ensure all local, state, and federal energy regulations are met
- Lead process improvement initiatives related to energy production, distribution, or storage
- Monitor and manage budgets aligned with operational KPIs and strategic energy goals
- Conduct annual performance reviews and lead continuous operational assessments
Qualifications
- 10+ years of operations or general management experience within the energy industry
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., FERC, EPA, PHMSA, ERCOT, or local utility commissions)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry-specific software (e.g., SCADA, SAP, Oracle EBS, or PI System)
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments involving engineering, field services, EH&S, and finance
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities
- Experience working with joint ventures, third-party operators, or governmental entities is a plus
