The ROLE:
As we enter our next chapter, we’re looking for a
Creative Director
to bring that vision to life — someone who understands how to translate the energy of the studio into storytelling that feels elevated, iconic, and deeply connected to culture.
What YOU’ll do:
- Concept & Direction:
Lead the creative vision for all campaigns — from ideation to execution — ensuring every touchpoint embodies the Milk voice and visual identity.
- Cultural Storytelling:
Translate real moments in culture, community, and artistry into creative ideas that feel authentic, relevant, and distinctly Milk.
- Strategic Partnership:
Collaborate closely with the CMO, Head of Brand, and Founder to ensure that the brand’s tone and creative point of view are consistently reflected across all teams, campaigns, and consumer touchpoints.
- Brand Positioning:
Bring a strong creative perspective on how to position Milk Makeup within the broader beauty landscape, with an eye toward differentiation, cultural impact, and timeless brand storytelling.
- Partnership Creative:
Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Brand to ensure the creative strategy of all brand and talent partnerships is captured end-to-end — from concept through execution — reflecting Milk’s values and aesthetic integrity.
- Production Leadership:
Oversee the production of high-impact creative assets across film, photo, digital, social, packaging, and retail, maintaining the highest level of visual storytelling from concept through delivery.
- On-Set Direction:
Art direct shoots that bring our creative to life, collaborating closely with photographers, stylists, talent, and founders to craft imagery that feels timeless and aspirational.
- Consistency & Innovation:
Guard and evolve the Milk aesthetic, ensuring cohesion across all channels while continuously pushing creative boundaries.
- Creative Collaboration:
Partner cross-functionally with Brand, Marketing, E-commerce, Product Development, and Social teams to deliver 360° creative that drives both brand and business growth.
- Team Leadership:
Inspire, mentor, and manage designers, art directors, and agency partners to produce work that is elevated, relevant, and true to Milk’s creative spirit.
Strategic Oversight:
Manage creative budgets, timelines, and workflows, ensuring excellence, efficiency, and clarity across teams.
We’d like YOU to have:
- 10+ years of creative experience in beauty, fashion, or culturally driven brands (agency or in-house).
- 4+ years leading creative and art direction across integrated campaigns. Proven track record of producing best-in-class campaigns across digital, retail, and experiential channels.
- Deep understanding of brand positioning and how to use creative direction to stand out in a crowded beauty landscape.
- Experience leading photo and video shoots from concept through post-production. Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills — with the ability to rally cross-functional partners around a unified creative vision.
