The Role

As our Social Media + Content Associate, you’ll help shape and tend to the world of Sonsie across our social channels, with a focus on Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. You’ll own creative ideation, production, editing, and scheduling — turning ideas and moments into content that feels thoughtful, on-brand, and emotionally resonant.

This role is for someone who lives and breathes social. You understand what works on each platform, how to adapt trends without chasing them, and how to maintain a consistent aesthetic and voice while keeping things fresh and human. Reporting to the VP of Brand, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Sonsie shows up in culture and community.

How You’ll Spend Your Time Tending the Garden (Content Creation & Production)

  • Plant ideas, then concept, shoot, and edit social-first video and photo content each week for TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest
  • Capture what’s growing—from shoots, events, behind-the-scenes moments, NYC days, and community touchpoints—and turn it into lived-in, human content
  • Edit primarily in CapCut (or similar tools), shaping each piece to reflect Sonsie’s tone, rhythm, and visual identity
  • Help cultivate campaign content, paid media creative, photoshoots, and outsourced UGC, ensuring everything feels rooted in the same world
  • Graphic design knowledge is a plus for social and stories

Caring for the Beds (Social Media Management)

  • Plan, schedule, and publish content across platforms using a shared content calendar
  • Maintain consistency in voice, aesthetic, and messaging so the garden feels cohesive and intentional
  • Join weekly planning and strategy conversations with the marketing and creative team
  • Observe what’s resonating, track performance, and help refine content to support healthy growth and engagement

Who You Are

  • Experience: Entry-level position with at least 1 year of video editing experience, preferably with a focus on CapCut or similar video editing tools. Experience does not need to be beauty specific, we love a fresh perspective and welcome candidates from other consumer-facing brands.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in CapCut, Figma, and Google software, excellent eye for video/photo trends, and the ability to edit and create compelling content quickly
  • Passion: A genuine passion for skincare, beauty, and content creation, with a good understanding of the digital landscape and social media trends and sustainability.
  • Creativity: Able to think outside the box and come up with fresh, innovative ideas for engaging social content
  • Location: Based in New York City, NY; candidates from this area preferred for occasional in-person collaboration.
  • Additional: A portfolio or Instagram showcasing previous work is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 (Depending on experience)
  • Bonus: Opportunity for up to 10% annual performance bonus (based on engagement & campaign metrics)
