Overview
Smallbatch Pets is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized E-Commerce & Marketing Specialist to support our digital business. This role is focused on day-to-day execution and growth across our e-commerce platforms, including Shopify, Amazon, and Chewy.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in spreadsheets, enjoys detailed execution, and takes pride in accuracy. You’re curious about how DTC businesses grow and are eager to gain hands-on experience in Shopify through product management, content updates, and merchandising support. This role is suited for someone who wants to build practical e-commerce knowledge in a structured, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
E-Commerce Execution
- Manage product set-up, launches, and updates across Shopify, Amazon, Chewy, & Mapp Trap.
- Maintain product pages with accurate details, images, copy, and assets.
- Implement digital merchandising strategies including bundles, trial packs, and subscriptions.
- Update and optimize Amazon Brand Store and A+ content.
- Monitor consumer reviews, Q&A, and product content accuracy, flag issues or opportunities.
- Support marketing campaigns and promotions with accurate online product content.
- Partner with operations to ensure product availability, smooth transitions, and clear communication of updates.
- Track product performance metrics (sales, rankings, reviews, promotions) to support marketing and sales initiatives.
- Maintain consistent pricing across ecomm platforms and support IMAP (minimum advertising price) policy enforcement and flows.
Website
- Own day-to-day product and content updates on the Smallbatch DTC website (Shopify), ensuring accuracy across SKUs, pricing, imagery, and descriptions.
- Build, update, and QA new product pages, collections, and PDP enhancements in support of launches, reformulations, and packaging updates.
- Support campaign execution by creating and updating landing pages for promotions, seasonal moments, education, and brand initiatives.
- Implement and maintain merchandising features including bundles, trial kits, subscriptions, and featured collections.
- Ensure website content reflects current inventory status, availability, and content.
- Conduct regular site audits to identify broken links, outdated content, inconsistencies, or UX issues and flag recommendations for improvement.
- Support SEO and on-site optimization by maintaining clean product data, metadata, and structured content.
Marketing & Content Support
- Maintain digital asset libraries (product photos, copy decks, sales sheets, etc.).
- Maintain accurate product specifications, attributes, and images in internal databases, and retailer portals.
- Keep packaging and product change logs up to date and organized for internal visibility.
- Ensure product information is consistent across all platforms, distributors, and retail partners.
- Assist with digital advertising execution by providing accurate product data and content.
- Contribute to marketing projects with organized product data pulls, SKU lists, or content exports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or product information management.
- 1-2 years' experience with Shopify and Amazon Seller Central strongly preferred.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, managing large datasets).
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many moving parts.
- Familiarity with Salsify or similar PIM systems a plus.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to maintain consistency across platforms.
