About The Role The Data Entry Specialist plays a vital role within Sharecare’s operational team by ensuring the accurate and timely input of patient information into internal systems and client Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platforms. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of confidentiality protocols, particularly HIPAA compliance. The specialist will support the Release of Information (ROI) process by retrieving, validating, and processing Protected Health Information (PHI) across multiple EMR systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a proactive approach to data management, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and security.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn new programs and processes quickly
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or collaboratively
  • Proven track record of maintaining productivity, utilization, and quality standards
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for extended typing and handling documents
  • Good visual acuity for reading documents and computer screens
  • Clear speaking and hearing abilities for effective communication
  • Adequate hand-eye coordination and sensory skills for job tasks

Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and update patient data within Sharecare’s internal systems and client EMRs
  • Access and navigate multiple EMR platforms to retrieve, verify, and process patient health information (PHI)
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness while adhering to productivity benchmarks
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and client information in compliance with HIPAA and company policies
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements for data management
  • Provide professional, courteous, and timely communication with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
  • Support the Release of Information process by managing data requests efficiently and securely
  • Participate in ongoing training and compliance programs related to information governance and HIPAA standards
