About The Role We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Copywriter (Contractor) to join our creative team at Acorns. This role is pivotal in shaping and delivering compelling, brand-aligned content across multiple channels to support our marketing and product initiatives. The Senior Copywriter will be responsible for developing end-to-end copy for digital ads, lifecycle emails, landing pages, in-product messaging, scripts, social campaigns, and brand experiences. The candidate will ensure consistency and clarity in voice across all touchpoints, translating strategic messaging into channel-specific content that resonates emotionally with our diverse audience. Collaborating closely with creative leadership and cross-functional teams, the Senior Copywriter will contribute to large-scale launches, support branding efforts, and help elevate our storytelling to inspire societal change. This is a remote opportunity with a contract duration of approximately three months, offering flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact on financial wellness initiatives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of copywriting experience within in-house brand, product, or creative teams.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating concept-to-execution thinking across multiple channels.
• Experience writing for finance, investing, fintech, or money-related products.
• Ability to translate complex or regulated topics into clear, compelling, human language.
• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in delivery.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Proactive mindset with a passion for innovative storytelling and societal impact.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive copy for digital advertisements, emails, landing pages, in-product messages, scripts, and social media campaigns.
• Apply and maintain the Acorns brand voice consistently across all communication channels.
• Support large-scale product launches by creating campaign names, taglines, and positioning frameworks aligned with strategic goals.
• Translate overarching campaign messaging into specific, channel-tailored content while preserving core themes and voice.
• Partner with creative leadership and cross-functional teams to brainstorm, present, and refine ideas based on feedback.
• Push creative boundaries by offering strong perspectives, asking insightful questions, and elevating ideas to be emotionally resonant.
• Coordinate with external vendors and partners to ensure all copy aligns with brand standards and quality expectations.
• Contribute to the development of innovative content strategies that support Acorns’ mission and growth objectives.
