Movement Labs is an incubator and consulting firm that uses technology, data, and experimentation to stop fascism and build progressive power. We help progressives win and defeat MAGA extremists through year-round work grounded in research and real-world testing. Our team partners with leading advocacy groups, grassroots organizers, and electoral campaigns to develop innovative tactics, win elections, and shift power for the long term.

As the R&D powerhouse for the progressive movement, we've run over 100 randomized control trials (RCTs) on voter behavior and helped hundreds of organizations increase their impact. We work hard, and the environment evolves rapidly. We are adaptable, nimble, and shift quickly as needed to meet the moment. We are looking for candidates that thrive in this type of environment.

We are looking for a new member of the Movement Labs People Team who will own talent acquisition, employee engagement programs, and manage our fellowship program. We are a team of five dreamers and schemers looking to add an extroverted executor. We're looking for someone who can manage a program, take the lead on building effective systems, and buckle up for a wild ride. We hire fast and often, scaling rapidly for elections and fellowship cohorts. We value flexibility, resilience, fearlessness, and a commitment to electing democrats to fight rising fascism. This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain all hiring processes, systems, and tools, to ensure streamlined and equitable hiring practices
  • Project manage all hiring processes, including supporting and training hiring managers and staff to implement our systems. Movement Labs employs a variety of roles, including technologists, data analysts, campaign organizers, and program managers.
  • Manage and implement all staff training plan, including researching trainers, coaching staff trainers, liaising with vendors, and administering trainings
  • Manage internal staff cohort program, including supporting cohort leaders, designing agendas, and administering the program
  • In partnership with Senior People Associate, improve team-based onboarding processes for new hires
  • In partnership with Senior Director of People, manage and administer fellowship program aimed at early-career and career-change professionals, including hiring, employee support and coaching, and training implementation
  • Support core People Team functions as needed, including providing information and data to staff as requested, providing staff support, and implementing organizational policies

Requirements Qualifications

Our ideal candidate is experienced in and excited about recruitment and hiring, is comfortable and conversant in a data and technical space, and wants to protect democracy from behind the scenes.

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience in recruitment and hiring, including end to end hiring coordination from job post to offer. Familiarity with equitable hiring practices
  • Ability to develop and document processes and systems
  • Ability to manage short term projects while holding bigger picture programs simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to be compassionate and supportive while holding strong boundaries
  • Sensitivity, discretion, and tact when handling delicate situations, and comfort with difficult conversations
  • Program management, including design, planning, and execution
  • An ability to run complex work independently, owning the outcome without step by step direction from a supervisor
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously, and coordinate work across multiple people
  • Strong communication skills, including written, presentations, facilitation, coaching
  • Flexibility, team player, willingness to pivot and respond as the situation demands

Our preferred candidate may have some of these characteristics and experience:

  • Ability to navigate tech space
  • Experience designing and implementing trainings
  • Facilitation and program leadership experience

Benefits

  • Annual salary of $75,000-$85,000 as part of a transparent salary structure with clear levels of advancement. A geographic COLA is included based on employee location

  • This position is not eligible for the collective bargaining unit
