Job Description:

Genesco Sports Enterprises is looking for an innovative, results-oriented, self-motivated individual to become part of their Data Team as a Data Analyst. The Analyst will utilize their analytical, statistical, and strategic skills to collect, analyze, and visualize large data sets and make value out of the data. The Analyst will proactively fetch and analyze information from various sources to evaluate partnership performance. The Analyst will develop ideas and programs that drive business goals by leveraging data insights. The candidate should be a self-starter and proactive in creating and maintaining work streams to drive client’s business.

 

**Responsibilities

:**

Data Analysis & Insight Development

  • Mine, clean, and analyze data from brand, league, team, and third-party data sources to evaluate sponsorship effectiveness and fan engagement.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify trends, performance drivers, and optimization opportunities across sports properties and marketing campaigns.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights aligned with client business objectives and sponsorship KPIs.

Reporting & Visualization

  • Develop, maintain, and QA recurring reporting dashboards in Tableau and Excel to track sponsorship performance, audience impact, and campaign outcomes.
  • Build user-friendly Tableau dashboards that support client-facing analysis for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Prepare client-ready reports, visualizations, and presentations that articulate key insights and recommendations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with account teams, strategy teams, and client stakeholders to understand business questions and define analytical approaches.
  • Liaise with national and local sports property data teams to gather data, validate sources, and support sponsorship reporting needs.
  • Provide ad-hoc analytical support to address client-specific questions around sports strategy, audiences, and partnership performance.

Project & Process Management

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and workstreams to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery for brand clients.
  • Prepare weekly status updates and contribute to client meetings with clear summaries of ongoing work and insights.
  • Assist in developing processes, documentation, and tools that enhance data accuracy, reporting efficiency, and measurement consistency.

Competitive & Market Analysis

  • Conduct comparative and category analysis to benchmark client sponsorships against competitors and uncover best-in-class practices.
  • Support ongoing research into sports industry trends, fan behavior, and the evolving sponsorship landscape.

 

Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex analyses in a clear, compelling, and organized manner.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience building dashboards in Tableau.
  • Exposure to marketing analytics, media measurement, or CRM/data ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with sports industry trends, fan data, and/or sponsorship marketing concepts.
  • Internship or project experience in sports marketing, sponsorship measurement, marketing analytics, or related fields.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, or other analytical tools.
