About The Role

We are seeking a talented and culturally tuned-in Lead Organic Content Copywriter to join our New York City team. This strategic and creative role involves shaping how millions of people experience the Hims & Hers brand through compelling storytelling across multiple channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading our organic copy team, developing the voice, scripts, and narratives that power our YouTube presence, social media channels, app, and blog. This role requires a hands-on approach, working closely with cross-departmental stakeholders including Marketing, SEO, Content Strategy, creative directors, and production teams. The Lead Organic Content Copywriter will be instrumental in creating engaging, human, and witty content that aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our audience. The position involves conceptualizing, scripting, and producing video content that informs, inspires, and entertains, with opportunities to work on in-person shoots as needed. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence brand perception and engagement through innovative content strategies and storytelling excellence.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in copywriting, with a focus on digital media and content creation
  • Proven experience in scripting and producing YouTube content
  • Extensive knowledge of the video production process from a copywriting perspective, including pre-production, production, post-production, and delivery
  • Experience leading and mentoring creative teams, supporting professional development
  • Strong narrative thinking with the ability to develop creative concepts and build compelling stories
  • Ability to deliver on strategic initiatives while maintaining brand voice, tone, and standards
  • Experience collaborating with designers, editors, art directors, animators, producers, and other creative partners
  • Proficiency in using insights and data to shape engaging narratives and drive experimentation
  • Excellent editing, proofreading, and grammatical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of healthcare, wellness, or CPG industry is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to present ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Hands-on, proactive attitude with a passion for creative storytelling

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop the brand voice across all organic content channels, including YouTube, social media, blog, and app
  • Conceptualize, script, and produce engaging video content that informs, inspires, and entertains
  • Collaborate with creative and strategy teams, including art directors, producers, editors, designers, and other stakeholders, to bring ideas from concept to final production
  • Lead and mentor a team of organic copywriters, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Ensure consistency in tone, voice, and storytelling standards across all content
  • Utilize data and insights to experiment with new content formats and optimize engagement and conversion
  • Maintain high standards for editing, grammar, and clarity in all written materials
  • Support in-person shoots and production activities as needed
  • Stay updated on industry trends, platform algorithms, and best practices to keep content fresh and effective
  • Support strategic initiatives that align with brand growth and audience engagement goals
