About KiwiCo:

KiwiCo is an innovative eCommerce company dedicated to sparking creativity and curiosity in kids (and kids at heart!). Through both online and offline materials, we provide fun and engaging ways for kids to explore, create, and learn. Our primary offering is a subscription service where we deliver "whoa awesome," hands-on projects to kids. We also manage an e-commerce storefront and a content platform to inspire and educate. We take great pride and ownership in the products we build and in the community of parents and kids we serve.

Our office is located in Mountain View, CA within walking distance to the Caltrain station. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with 3-4 office days per week (depending on your team) and the remainder of the week working remotely.

About the Job:

KiwiCo is seeking an Associate Photographer/Stylist with an eye for both studio and lifestyle photography. The ideal candidate is someone who will be able to help schedule, style, shoot, and edit photos used to support our products and marketing content. The ideal candidate would have strong camera skills, an eye for staging, project management capabilities, a broad operating range, and be able to balance strategic planning with fast-paced day-to-day execution.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Style and capture still product photography in studio and lifestyle settings for printed materials, e-commerce, and retail packaging
  • Schedule, plan, set up, and run photo shoots , ensuring they run smoothly and that all deliverables are captured
  • Style products and child models to align with brand guidelines and to elevate and bring out the most compelling aspects of the product
  • Cast and work with children ages 0–17 on set by fostering a fun, supportive environment while capturing required content
  • Retouch and edit images with a strong eye for detail and consistency across assets
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain product, wardrobe, props, and accessories before, during, and after shoots
  • Maintain an organized, accessible library of photo assets for use across the company
  • Collaborate closely with the product and marketing teams to manage photo requests and to ensure final deliverables support marketing goals, objectives, and overall campaign concepts
  • Manage projects from pre-production through completion , delivering work on time and on budget
  • Maintain and evolve visual standards for photos by experimenting with shooting techniques, lighting, and retouching

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in photography, fashion, or a related field
  • 2+ years of photo experience working in a studio or in the field
  • Strong skills in lighting, shooting, styling, and editing studio product photography, talent photography, and lifestyle photography
  • Hands-on, “get things done” mentality , a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, small company environment
  • Resourceful and flexible, able to see projects through from idea stage to completion and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure success amidst changing deadlines
  • Comfortable working under pressure , balancing competing demands and aggressive timelines to deliver against company vision and goals
  • Highly collaborative with excellent communication skills ; able to work cross-functionally and give and receive feedback effectively
  • Strong organizational and detail-orientation skills , with the ability to keep productions running smoothly and maintain well-organized, tagged, and accessible project files

The starting pay range for this position is between $80,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the final base salary offered may differ based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and business needs. In addition to base pay, KiwiCo offers a comprehensive total rewards package, which may include opportunities for an annual bonus, stock options, and a variety of benefits related to health, financial security, and well-being. Specific details about these benefits will be shared if an offer of employment is extended.
