Middle PHP Engineer

We’re looking for a Middle Backend Engineer who’s comfortable working with PHP (preferably Laravel) and eager to grow across modern technologies, frameworks, and architectures. You’ll join a collaborative team of experienced engineers who share best practices and focus on building scalable, maintainable, and reliable systems.

This role is full-time and offers home working flexibility.

Your future role will include

• Developing and maintaining scalable, maintainable, and well-tested systems using PHP (Laravel) and other modern languages, such as Golang.
• Participating in the full software development lifecycle — from idea and estimation to implementation, testing, and release.
• Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to deliver valuable features efficiently.
• Contributing to system design and architecture discussions using C4 modeling and structured technical documentation.
• Writing clean, efficient, and secure code following best practices and standards.
• Continuously improving system performance, reliability, and maintainability.

You’re going to need this to be successful in this role

• 3+ years of professional development experience, including experience with PHP/Laravel.
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Basic experience with C4 diagrams and system documentation.
• Ability to estimate work and deliver within set timelines.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of Git-based workflows and Linux environments.
• Experience with basic observability (o11y) tools.
• Advanced English.
  

It’s nice if you also have

• Familiarity with at least one additional modern language or framework - ideally Golang.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Experience in event-driven systems or microservices.
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools.
